Retirement in a small town

Looking for a quiet town, inexpensive, and friendly people? Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental Philippines is the place to be. This is a small city of about 30,000 that has potential. Many of the businesses are undergoing renovation and national businesses are starting to notice, such as Jollibee and other new restaurants. Oroquieta is a coastal city, and is nestled beneath a mountain, which protects the city from extreme tropical weather. An expansion of the provincial hospital is in the making and roads are under construction and renovation. The Philippines is a former commonwealth of the United States, which created the infrastructure of the government, and language. English is one of the official languages. Today the system of goverment is still present.

oroquieta city as our beloved mayor puts it, "the city of good life". true that a lot of senior prefers to retire her in their own native lang. staying here gives them lots of chances to socialize w/ their own comraderie. spending their dollar monthly pension is a plus. not to mention you get your own maid.
