Misamis Occidental Water District (MOWD) inability to keep meters from thieves Or MOWD stealing meters to profit?

Water meters have been disappearing and turned off regardless of on-time payment in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. MOWD requires that payment is required to replace existing meters regardless of meters are in public or government properties. MOWD has the authority to remove and disconnect meters, but yet when meters are stolen/taken from public or government lands owners are required to pay for the replacement. When the basic necessities of life are mismanaged, such as water, by the very authority that handles it there is no justice.

Many of the businesses are undergoing renovation and national businesses are starting to notice, such as Jollibee and other new restaurants. Oroquieta is a coastal city, and is nestled beneath a mountain, which protects the city from extreme tropical weather. An expansion of the provincial hospital is in the making and roads are under construction and renovation. The Philippines is a former commonwealth of the United States, which created the infrastructure of the government, and language. English is one of the official languages. Today the system of goverment is still present.

The monopolization of the Internet in the Philippines

Living in remote places in the Philippines you would think Internet or cable is not available, but think again. There are many Internet Cafes, especially in small towns in southern Philippines. In one particular town, Oroquieta City, in the province of Misamis Occidental just about every corner you will see a Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co (PLDT) Internet café. There are about 30 cafes of which 3 opened in the past year. Of the 30 there are four non-PLDT Internet service cafes. Try applying for Internet access through PLDT in this small town is nearly impossible. Apparently there are limited ports, but yet a new café opens year after year with no existing PLDT café closing. The other provider that is not affiliated with PLDT charges double. The battle of Internet access in this town has come down to turning off or sabotaging the competitors Internet.
